Contact Tim and Cheri Complete ProfileAfter thirty years of pastoral ministry, Tim & Cheri joined the African Bible Colleges, serving at the Uganda campus. They first served there while on sabbatical during the 2008 spring semester and returned full-time in January 2009. Cheri has taught elementary school for over twenty-five years, and Tim has pastored three churches since 1979, serving Faith Presbyterian Church for nineteen years. Tim & Cheri have been married for thirty-one years and have two grown children, Andrea and James, as well as an eight-year-old granddaughter. The Hokes are avid dog lovers and were able to bring with them their canine friends, Pal.
As Tim looks back over his life, there are three things he never wanted to do. The first was to be a preacher. As a boy, Tim thought ministers were sissies and he couldn't imagine anything worse! However, the Lord brought him to faith in Christ while in graduate school at age twenty-four. Within a few months, he knew God had called him to pa...see complete profile

Contact Kenneth and Ishbel Complete ProfileWe come from the Isle of Lewis of the West coast of Scotland.
We were called to serve ABC in June 2002 and took the step of faith in June 2003, to help build a university in Uganda.
Contact Kurt and Marlene Complete ProfileWe currently are at the Uganda Campus in Lobowa Hills, just outside Kampala. I teach Church History, Ethics, and several New Testament courses and direct evangelism outreach, Marlene teaches communications courses. We arrived in August of 2006 and hope to be here a very long time!
Interesting facts:
Kurt became interested in ministering directly with people while working previously in Kenya. The Kenyans worked their way into his heart as he became heavily involved in church planting in the highlands area in the Southwestern part of the country. Marlene became interested in missions during a college exchange program that landed her in Costa Rica and Mexico.
Favorite pasttimes:
Kurt: Flying! (you had to ask?), Reading Reformed Theology, working on Cars, meeting brothers and Sisters in Christ anywhere in the world. Good preaching! Marlene: Baking homemade bread! Reading, Women's bible st...see complete profile
Contact John and Alison Complete ProfileWe are currently on furlough until January 2011, Lord willing. We appreciate your ongoing support.
John and Alison (Ali) are grateful and happy to be serving after five years at ABU Uganda. Alison, who felt called to be a nurse from the age of seven, was born in Coventry, UK, and is a true 'third culture kid,' having lived in Canada, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Norway, where she attended nursing school and was converted through the ministry of the Navigators. She has considerable hospital nursing experience and had thought a number of times of using that training as a missionary. In addition to serving as Medical Advisor, she enjoys helping design the gardens on the 20-acre campus and providing hospitality to students, staff, and visitors.
John has considerable experience teaching, in a technical college, community college, and Christian school. His other work has been as a technical writer and editor. The variety of tasks at ABC is challeng...see complete profile
